OUR IMPACT

From conception Arius Clothing Company has been founded on the need for more everyday ethical and sustainable clothing that gives back. I have considered ethics and sustainability at each step of building this business and chosen the path that best suits these values. Below are the main areas of business and how I have incorporated ethical and sustainable decision making at each step. As we learn and grow I hope to continue and improve every step of the way.

PEOPLE & PLANET

Donating 10% of Profits

We endeavour to implement sustainability at all levels of our business. Continuing this commitment we donate 10% of profits to carbon offsetting projects and environmental initiatives. This will be done each quarter and the impact will be shared with you, the people who make this happen! The current foundation we are supporting is Greening Australia.

About Greening Australia
Greening Australia has been restoring Australia’s unique landscapes and protecting biodiversity at scale
through collaborative, science-based programs for nearly 40 years. Greening Australia is committed to
tackling Australia’s greatest environmental challenges in ways that work for communities, economies
and nature; planting millions of native trees and plants, protecting hundreds of native species, and
supporting Traditional Owners’ aspirations for restoring country. For more information, visit
www.greeningaustralia.org.au.
For every transaction made through Arius Clothing Company, we donate 10% of profits to Greening Australia.

Materials

Our collection consists of organic cotton tees, organic cotton jumpers with recycled polyester ribbing (the edges), organic cotton caps and recycled cotton bucket hats. Organic and recycled materials are much better for the planet as they use less resources to produce. Organic cotton is grown without the use of pesticides and with less water than regular cotton. This makes it better for the soil, local environment, workers and the wearer. Because organic cotton does not use pesticides and all our clothes are dyed using OEKO-TEX Standard 100 dyes, this is much healthier for the wearer. Did you know our skin is the biggest organ in our body? This is why we should always be aware of what we are putting on our skin and opt for natural materials made without harmful chemicals.

Shipping

Shipping from our Brisbane headquarters to you is via Hero Packaging compostable mailers with compostable stickers (yes, home compostable!). We use minimal packaging and all components can either be reused, recycled or composted. Our packages are shipped via Sendle which is a carbon neutral delivery service.

Manufacturing

Our clothing is manufactured by a third party Stanley/Stella. They are committed to producing clothing in an ethical and sustainable manner. They only use 100% organic cotton and recycled materials, are a FairWear Foundation Leader, are certified by the best including GOTS, OEKO-TEX, Global Recycled Standard and PETA-Approved Vegan. You can read more about their ethics and sustainability here.

End of Life

We believe in a circular economy and making use of the resources we already have. That is why we have partnered with Upparel to offer an end of life program for your textiles. Upparel are one of Australia's biggest textile recyclers.
You can purchase a label from here to send your unwanted textiles to be given a new life. In return you get a $25 voucher to use in our store*. Win-win!

Being ethical and sustainable to help people and planet is our goal and while we might not be perfect, we are always looking to improve. If you have any further suggestions for us to consider, please feel free to contact me!

Let’s be the CHANGE!
